Named for the owner's grandfather, this room is a comfortable retreat. Carl, the first of ten children , was born in 1892 in Mendota, Illinois, to German immigrants. He was the blacksmith in Horton, Iowa from 1914 to 1922. He married Eva in 1916 and moved his young family to Plainfield, Iowa in 1922 to open a garage for those "new-fangled" automobiles.  

Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat or conveniently located overnight accommodations, the Seven Sisters Bed & Breakfast is sure to please.  Carl's Room is decorated in soothing tones of beige and sky-blue.  Facing north, the room is shaded all summer by trees on the boulevard.  Looking out the windows, guests have a perfect view of the north garden.  

Guests will enjoy the leisurely stroll to the Jon Hassler Theater—just three blocks away.   Outdoor enthusiasts who want to tour southeastern Minnesota's  parks or bike trails will find themselves one block from the bike trail, 15 minutes from Carly State Park and 25 minutes from Whitewater State Park.  Sportsmen will find excellent fishing and hunting in the Whitewater and Zumbro River Valleys.
